What we find that a tech with a leaf blower does not
Lint tells a story if you read it. Dry gray fluff means the duct breathes. Matted felt means moisture is sitting inside. Felt that smells sour means a sag holds water. We pull a sample and hand it to you. That one handful decides whether cleaning is enough.
Slinky-style flex duct behind the dryer is the usual culprit. Push the machine back and it folds. The fold becomes a lint shelf. We swap it for rigid aluminum or semi-rigid, then mark the floor so the dryer stops at the right depth.
Roof terminations on two-story builds are their own problem. Lint binds with pine needles and oak catkins into a mat. Birds and wasps build in the hood. We check the hood from the roof, not the attic hatch. Inside the attic we hand-feel every joint for warm leaking air. A disconnect there soaks insulation and stains the decking underside.
We also check the booster fan if one exists. Long runs sometimes have one buried in a joist bay. Homeowners rarely know it is there. Dead boosters choke the run worse than lint does.
Photos go to you labeled by location, not a generic before-and-after pair.

What Happens When You Call Us
- 1
Call and tell us where the dryer sits and where the vent exits. We give you a two hour window, usually same week, and a text when the tech leaves for your address.
- 2
The tech checks the full run, the hood, and the transition hose, then quotes a firm price before any tool comes out. The estimate is free.
- 3
We clear the line, run the dryer to check airflow at the outside hood, vacuum the lint off your floor, and you pay the number you already agreed to.
